Gábor Reisz is a multitalent with nerves of steel. There have been lots of directors who haven't been able to make anything remarkable after their successful debut. "For Some Inexplicable Reason", the first film by this Hungarian auteur, was warmly received not only by critics but by spectators, the greatest experts. Now, after watching his second film, we can tell that Gábor has hit the bullseye again.
Tamás is 33 years old and his soul is broken because his beloved Anna has decided to leave him. Pitying himself, Tamás tries to find out whether love only exists when there isn't any love. While analysing himself, he recollects his childhood and youth and begins to understand why we are so confused in the first place.
This synopsis can make you think the film is a sad one. On the contrary, it's very amusing, full of fantasy and utterly unpredictable. It’s usually crap films that talk about feelings. Such films are like bad poems. However, the director of this film is exceptionally skilled at portraying feelings. This is a film about love and aimed particularly at men, because there's lots of recognition of the core. It's a true auteur film about the fact that we all come from our childhood.
With his first bachelor degree, Gábor could teach schoolchildren to jump and run. With the second one, obtained at film school, he teaches us to think and look at things in a cinematographic way.
